Vintage christmas book

I found this book in the window of a charity shop in Basingstoke. It was only £1.50 too. (Does anyone else feel bad when they get a real bargain from a charity shop? I always think 'Oh you could have gotten so much more for that' or is that just me?)

It was published in 1947 and is in pretty good condition considering. It doesn't have any colour plates, but lots of illustrations. They are simple, which I like, all in just blue, black and red. It's a very pretty book and I'm pleased with it.

This is adorable! The illustrations remind me so much of a book my gran used to have from her childhood which I loved when I was little.
